Terms of use

This English text is a courtesy translation. Only the German version is legally binding.

By using erdbebenradar.de (the “Website”), operated by Digital Dynamics Kft. (Hungary, EU — the “Operator”), you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Website.

1. Information only — NOT a warning service

The Website is for general information only. It is not a warning, alert or safety service and must not be used as such. Official earthquake, tsunami, avalanche and severe-weather warnings are issued exclusively by the competent authorities and services (e.g. the Deutscher Wetterdienst, the avalanche warning services and civil protection); for decisions about life and safety, rely on them and on official warning apps.

2. Third-party data, “as is”

The data shown come from public sources (including USGS, GFZ GEOFON, EAWS, DWD) and are largely generated automatically; they may be delayed, incomplete, incorrect or temporarily unavailable and are often corrected by the sources afterwards. The Website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or continuous availability.

3. No affiliation with authorities

The Website is an independent service and is not affiliated with USGS, GFZ, DWD, EAWS or any other authority. Names of authorities and services are mentioned only to identify sources.

4. Liability

Use is free of charge. Liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law, in particular for indirect damage, consequential damage, property damage and financial loss arising from the use or unavailability of the Website or from reliance on its content.

5. Availability and changes

The Operator may change, interrupt or discontinue the Website or parts of it at any time without notice and is not obliged to keep it available, up to date or free of errors. These terms may be changed; the version published here at the time applies.

6. Maps, archives and derived content

Maps, plate boundaries, danger levels, statistics, archives and visualisations are simplified representations of public data. They are not evidence and are not suitable as a basis for insurance, legal, construction or real-estate decisions.

7. Sources and licences

The sources and their licences are named on the respective map page (including USGS: public domain; GFZ GEOFON: CC BY 4.0; EAWS: CC0; map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), © Protomaps, rendering: Tilezza). Third-party trademarks and names belong to their owners.

8. Copyright and database rights, automated access

The design, code, texts, visualisations and compilations of the Website are protected by copyright and, where applicable, by the Operator’s sui generis database right; public source data remain free under their own licence. Search engines and AI assistants may crawl, index and cite the Website within the limits of our robots.txt. Without prior written consent it is not permitted to systematically extract, mirror, republish or sell substantial parts of the Website or its datasets, or to access the Website in a way that burdens or circumvents its operation (e.g. automated bulk requests, bots disguised as human visitors). Such access may be limited or blocked.

9. Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the service without obligation or remuneration. Please do not send personal data of third parties.

10. Links

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or availability.

11. Requests, complaints and response times

Requests, complaints and notices must be sent in writing by email to info@digitaldynamics.hu (German, English or Hungarian). We do not offer handling by telephone or in person; a guaranteed response time exists only where required by law.

Data protection requests (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability) are answered within one month of receipt. Pursuant to Art. 12(3) GDPR, this period may be extended by a further two months, taking into account the complexity and number of requests; we will inform you of any extension and the reasons for it within the first month. We may request additional information to verify your identity; the period starts when it is received. Manifestly unfounded or excessive requests may be refused or handled for a fee (Art. 12(5) GDPR).

Notices of allegedly illegal content under the Digital Services Act are processed in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner (Art. 16 DSA). A notice should contain the exact URL, a justification, your name and email address (except in the cases provided by law) and a statement that it is made in good faith. Incomplete notices may not be processable.

Other requests are answered at our discretion; there is no obligation to respond.

12. Free service, applicable law, place of jurisdiction

The Website is provided free of charge and without any contractual commitment to performance (availability, accuracy, support); no claims to particular services, data or functions can be derived from its use. Hungarian law applies. To the extent permitted by law, the courts competent for the Operator’s registered office in Hungary have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of their country of residence and their right to bring proceedings before the courts competent under mandatory consumer law. Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid.
